Budapest, 20th November 2015,

Last week, we were invited to participate, exchange ideas and discuss best practices of European Electric Cars adoption process at the “New Way for Electromobility in the EU” conference in Budapest, together with senior officials of several Central and Eastern European counties (Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Romania) and representatives of major car manufacturers (Audi, BMW, Nissan, Renault, Tesla, Volkswagen).

Considering that the lack of an effective and extensive EV charging infrastructure continues to be one of the most important obstacles to large scale adoption of electrical vehicles, FLASHNET’s vision of municipal EV charging networks, based on the already existing street lighting infrastructures and thus requiring minimal investment, generated once again a vivid interest.

Of course, extensive charging availability is not the only issue impeaching large scale use of electric cars. The lack of efficient energy storage, plus the limited battery lifetime and the potential environmental impact of both Lead and Lithium based cells are important obstacles to overcome. But using inteliLIGHT®’s smart city platform, we have a functioning EV charging solution which is easier, faster and more economical than ever to deploy, bringing this entire issue a step closer to a global solution.
