IoT connected street lighting applications and smart city integrations, presented and demonstrated live on Bloomberg’s investor information program by Vasprovider’s visionaries and investors, Mr. Krasimir Genov and Mr. Zhivko Kalotov. Watch the entire show (available only in Bulgarian).
Brasov, ROMANIA, 15 January 2018
Mr. Genov and Mr. Kalotov were invited to Bloomberg TV to speak about investment opportunities in the IoT sector in Bulgaria. As investors, managers and visionaries in the telecommunication sector, they presented smart city integrations as a way to ensure long term development for any community, and also as an investment opportunity. In a world where large and small cities alike are trying to take more care of their resources, looking for more efficient and sustainable solutions, municipalities and investors are looking to the new IoT communication technologies for integrated management solutions.
To better prove their point, Mr. Genov presented a live demonstration of inteliLIGHT’s LoRaWAN™ compatible lighting control solution, raising awareness and interest on the Bulgarian market, with a detailed presentation of its capabilities and strategic approach: smart city synergies through interoperability and integration.
inteliLIGHT® is a smart streetlight control system that can transform any legacy lighting installation into a modern and proactive infrastructure, allowing city management to gain awareness and control over the street lighting grid, together with improved scheduling and maintenance applications. The LoRaWAN™ compatible IoT communication has the capability to reliably connect sensors and actuators over long distances, using low-bitrate public radio frequencies. With its unique penetration capability, a LoRaWAN™ gateway deployed on a building or tower can connect to thousands of devices over distances up to 15 kilometers. The technology also offers unique benefits in terms of bi-directionality, security, mobility and accurate localization.
This shortens the implementation time and reduces the infrastructure costs to minimum, whether it’s about existing lighting fixture upgrade or installing new fixtures. Furthermore, the inteliLIGHT® StreetLight Control Software can manage in one interface different segments of controllers, even from different hardware providers.
But smart cities are not limited to smart lighting, and Flashnet (the company that developed inteliLIGHT®), together with Vasprovider (Bulgarian IoT and Smart City integrators) seem to have a solution for that also. inteliLIGHT is already integrated with major city management systems, like Cisco CDP, allowing integrated city systems control and making a step further towards true synergistic and smart cities. Furthermore, all controllers are available in three different form factors: as a wired upgrade for existing lighting installations, as a 7-pin NEMA connectable device (ANSI C136.41) or compact form, to be embedded into luminaries right from the production line.
Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, the company has the objective to provide industrial and consumer solutions based on available Internet of Things communication technologies (likes of GSM, LoRaWAN, WiFi or Bluetooth) (http://vasprovider.com).
FLASHNET is a fast-paced tech company that integrates the latest IT, energy and telecommunications technologies into hardware and software solutions, creating and implementing intelligent systems for smarter cities and better infrastructure. Founded in 2005, FLASHNET is a leader in intelligent utility management systems, with worldwide operations. (www.flashnet.ro)
inteliLIGHT® is a smart street lighting control solution that offers detailed lamp-level management capabilities (ON/OFF, dimming, real-time reporting) over multiple IoT communication technologies. In-depth grid awareness is obtained through accurate utility-grade readings of any changes occurring along the grid, reducing energy loss and offering advanced maintenance optimization tools. Furthermore, inteliLIGHT® is integrated with Smart City management platforms and offers support for further Smart City development.. (www.inteliLIGHT.eu)
