inteliLIGHT increases interoperability for its smart street lighting solution with uCIFI data model compatibility

inteliLIGHT, Flashnet’s smart street lighting control solution, will be soon available for integration using the uCIFI unified data model for IoT networks.

The evolution of the Internet of Things has created an environment where open solutions and interoperability are becoming crucial. Avoiding supplier-locked situations when technologies and opportunities change so fast is a great asset for municipalities, integrators and manufacturers alike.

An advocate for future-proof solutions, Flashnet’s smart lighting system is part of several alliances that standardise communication protocols (LonMark, LoRaWAN) and has obtained the TALQ2 and SR certifications.

Following this philosophy, inteliLIGHT strives to offer its clients the most innovative applications and technologies available. Today, inteliLIGHT is one of the most open and interoperable solutions in terms of available communications, API availability and third party Smart City platforms integration (Cisco, Ericsson, Nokia, Orange, Engie etc.).

Now, inteliLIGHT has also joined the uCIFI Alliance, as it provides an alternative for interoperability and interchangeability to the smart city and utility sectors. The uCIFI Alliance’s mission is to reduce the need for proprietary API integration and translation of data payloads, offering easier and more relevant information access to interconnected smart city applications through a common language – a unified data model.

uCIFI is based on the standardized OMA LwM2M data format and is compatible with any IoT network including LoRaWAN and NB-IoT. The uCIFI data model provides inteliLIGHT customers with a new reassurance of avoiding vendor lock-in situations, opening up even more opportunities for integrators to cover all possible smart lighting use cases without being limited to one manufacturer or provider.

About uCIFI®

uCIFI is a non-profit alliance of industrial companies, cities and utilities with the goal to unlock the Smart City & Utility markets. The uCIFI Alliance specifies a unified data model and interface across multiple IoT Networks, including LoRaWAN, NB-IoT and an open-source sub-GHz long distance mesh network, to provide both device-to-device and device-to-cloud IoT communication to cities and utilities independently from any proprietary vendor.
