This November, Barcelona became the capital of smart city innovation once again. At Smart City Expo World Congress 2025, we joined over 25,000 professionals, 1,100 exhibitors and 600 speakers from more than 130 countries, all interested in the future of urban living under this year’s theme – The Time for Cities. For us, it was one of the most inspiring editions yet, a place where technology met real-world purposes and needs.

From the very start, Smart City Expo has been a global community where decision-makers and innovators come together to share insights and build better cities. This year, the conversations were more focused than ever. The market is maturing fast, and cities are now coming to the table with concrete projects, specific needs and clear sustainability goals. 

Our discussions confirmed what we’ve been seeing across our projects worldwide: smart city ecosystems are expanding rapidly, and smart street lighting remains one of their most visible, accessible and impactful foundations. 

At our booth, we showcased how inteliLIGHT® helps cities evolve urban ecosystems – integrating lighting, energy and mobility through open standards and secure IoT connectivity. 

Together with our partners TALQ and 1NCE, we emphasized how interoperability and collaboration are shaping the next generation of smart cities – where efficiency, resilience and human impact go hand in hand.
