Major Milestone for Flashnet – Washington D.C. project wins Leading Lights Awards 2022
The Washington D.C. smart lighting project in the United States was recognized as the best Outstanding Use Case: Innovative IoT. This prestigious award acknowledges Flashnet’s vision of offering unprecedented flexibility to the most complex cities of the world and delivering world-class smart city solutions.
The Leading Light Awards is Light Reading’s annual award program that recognizes the industry’s top companies for innovation and outstanding achievements in next-generation communications technology, applications and services.
This year’s race was tight, with entries from strong players representing the Internet of Things industry. Therefore, the judging process was thorough, involving a series of steps that spread out over 2 months.
This edition’s applicants at the Innovative IoT category had to show how are helping change and improve cities and customer experiences with innovative Internet of Things devices and services. Needless to say, this was one of the many things Flashnet, together with 1NCE, successfully proved in Washington, D.C., where Flashnet is powering 75,000 inteliLIGHT® streetlight controllers.
One of the points that stood out and convinced the panel of experts was Flashnet’s unique approach in the industry – an open philosophy and a high-degree of flexibility. The inteliLIGHT solution was able to adapt to the complex infrastructure, the existing architecture and security concerns of the U.S capital. Now, the LED streetlights of the capital will use inteliLIGHT smart street lighting NEMA controllers to provide individual lamp control and monitoring capabilities, city-wide grid awareness and real-time malfunction alerts.
