After Flashnet achieved ThingPark Approved status, Actility® is promoting the inteliLIGHT® LoRa™ streetlight controller in its LoRaWAN™ IOT marketplace, ThingPark® Store
Brasov, July 25-th, 2016.
Flashnet® was the first company to integrate LoRa™ into its streetlight management solution, allowing inteliLIGHT® to become one of the fastest to deploy and most affordable solutions on the market. After announcing the introduction of the LoRaWAN™ streetlight controller in mid-2015, Flashnet® immediately began pilot project installations for customers world-wide. The new capabilities offered by long-range RF communications and LoRaWAN™ interoperability created great interest from smart city and street lighting control integrators, which has led to a significant number of pilot projects.
Actility’s pioneering ThingPark IoT platform was among the first inteliLIGHT® LoRa™ integrations with a third-party network server, ThingPark Wireless. With more than 10 successful projects deployed so far, inteliLIGHT® has proved the controller’s functionality and compatibility with the ThingPark® IoT network. In July 2016, by achieving ThingPark Approved status, the systems interoperability was officially acknowledged between the two technology companies followed by the introduction of the inteliLIGHT® LoRa™ controller in the ThinkPark® Store. This guarantees to any ThingPark® LoRaWAN user that streetlight control can be achieved within days, using inteliLIGHT® controllers and existing LPWAN infrastructure.
The inteliLIGHT® LoRa™ streetlight management solution offers detailed, lamp-level management and monitoring capabilities. Switching or dimming the streetlights can be triggered automatically based on pre-set area schedules. Also, in-depth grid monitoring provides detailed electrical parameters and feedback for any change occurring along the grid, offering an accurate real-time lighting system overview. Energy waste can be avoided and maintenance activities become seamless and proactive.
“The introduction of inteliLIGHT® LoRa™ controller in the ThingPark® Store portfolio is an expression of the strengthening ties between Actility® and Flashnet®. We are now expecting an increase in medium to large inteliLIGHT® LoRa™ street lighting control implementations using ThingPark® infrastructure by the end of the year, expanding even further the partnership between our companies.” said Lorand Mozes, CEO Flashnet.
About LoRaWAN™
LoRaWAN is designed to connect low-cost, battery-operated sensors over long distances in harsh environments that were previously too challenging or cost prohibitive to connect. A LoRaWAN gateway deployed on a building or tower can connect to sensors more than 10km away or to water meters deployed underground or in basements. The LoRaWAN protocol offers unique and unequaled benefits in terms of bi-directionality, security, mobility and accurate localization that are not addressed by other LPWAN technologies. These benefits will enable the diverse use cases and business models that will enable deployments of large scale LPWAN IoT networks globally. (https://www.lora-alliance.org/)
