Can I manage other services other than the street lighting through inteliLIGHT®?

inteliLIGHT® controllers can be used to monitor and manage other applications along the street lighting grid, such as sprinklers or access barriers that require remote on/off switching. Also, with the street lighting networks controlled by inteliLIGHT® being continuously under power, they allow the use of sensors and add-ons even during the day. Advertising back-lit panels on the poles, Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure all over the city or wireless communication devices are only a few ideas that can bring additional incomes to your community.

What kind of applications and sensors can be added to inteliLIGHT®?

Due to the lamp-level control, the street light networks managed by inteliLIGHT® are continuously under power. Therefore, there is a large array of sensors and applications that can be mounted on the lighting network. Security cameras, communication antennas, pollution sensors, noise detectors or traffic density sensors are just a few examples, we can adjust the system to suit your particular needs.

Which are the recurring maintenance costs?

Besides the usual maintenance tasks of your street lighting network (that you will accurately foresee and efficiently solve once you implement our street lighting management system), inteliLIGHT® components also have a limited life expectancy, so you will probably need some hardware replacements after years of functioning (controllers, sensors or communication devices). The good news is that these replacements’ costs would have been already covered from the system’s cost savings, so they will not represent a burden on your city budget.

How much does it cost to implement inteliLIGHT®?

Every city is unique and, due to inteliLIGHT®’s complexity and adaptability, it is difficult to estimate a deployment cost without detailed information regarding your project in particular. The shortest way to find out the estimated implementation costs is to fill in this form, and we’ll get back to you with all the needed details immediately.

How long does it take until actually noticing the energy saving?

After installing the first Remote Terminal Unit (operating maximum 250 street lighting fixtures), you can start using the system and benefit from the savings immediately. Energy costs are immediately reduced by up to 35% for the afferent lights through intelligent on/off switching, targeted progressive dimming and overall efficient management of the consumption.

How much time does it take to implement a pilot project?

The actual pilot implementation can take 4-8 weeks, depending on the local deployment conditions. But you need to take into consideration that we can deploy a pilot project only after the technical and compatibility assessment process and inteliLIGHT® business proposal (technical solution, budget and deployment timeline) are finished and approved. Please see more details about this issue in our Get Started section.

Can we implement a pilot project?

Once we agree upon all the data regarding the project and prepare the technical and financial proposal, you can choose from an advanced functionality demonstration or a pilot project deployment. For the pilot project, we implement the planned adaptations to the technical and software solutions and we deploy the pilot project together with our local implementation partner, so you can validate the system and its outcomes by yourself.

What kind of civil works are required when implementing inteliLIGHT®?

There are no civil works needed for inteliLIGHT®. We use your existing lighting grid for communications and energy supply, we adapt to any IP-based communication solution available in the area and we install our controllers and communication devices on the existing infrastructure of lighting fixtures and distribution cabinets.

How do the lamp controllers communicate with the equipment in the distribution cabinets and the mainframe?

inteliLIGHT® controllers are mounted inside or outside the street lighting fixtures, while the communication devices are placed inside the power supply cabinets. inteliLIGHT® communicates using PLC (Power Line Communication) or RF communication between the lamps and the power supply cabinets and using any IP-based communication solution available between the cabinets and the management software. The built-in advanced signal repeating mechanisms make it possible to communicate securely even over the largest street lighting networks.

Do I need to replace any of the street lamps or their components in order to implement the inteliLIGHT® system?

You don’t have to change any components in order to successfully implement inteliLIGHT®. The system is able to manage and monitor any luminary in street lighting installations, even decorative and architectural lighting. Our controllers successfully manage all LED and high intensity discharge lamps available on the market (HID – mercury vapor lamps, metal halide lamps and sodium lamps), using either magnetic or electronic ballasts. Our solution can be therefore easily embedded and adapts immediately to your existing infrastructure of cables, poles, ballasts and light bulbs.
