Abu Dhabi confirms once more its incline towards clean energy and innovation with WFES 2020
inteliLIGHT’s street lighting control, combined with ENGIE’s green energy global vision, showcased during World Future Energy Summit, one of the most prominent technology events in the beginning of the year.
The event that took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) between 13-th and 16-th January 2020 was packed with information regarding high-tech energy management, but not only that. Featuring exhibit categories like Energy, Water, EcoWaste, Solar and Smart Cities, the exhibitors went beyond energy, addressing concerning global issues in the context of global warming and worldwide effort to reduce the human footprint through technology and awareness.
Energy and technology companies, innovators and integrators, software and hardware providers, city managers and world-renowned visionaries, all gathered in the Middle East to get a better grasp of the entire phenomenon and to explore the available technologies and current possibilities. One of the recurring subjects was solar and renewables energy management: production, storage, available technologies and track record.
The event impressed with more than exhibitor quality, as its sheer size succeeded to involve the entire city of Abu Dhabi, that seemed to revolve around World Future Energy Summit 2020 for a few days. Technology was used to help you navigate the event efficiently: an incredibly useful mobile app to keep track of favourite exhibitors and forum sessions, view speakers, plan meetings, locate innovations, get reminders, real-time notifications and more.
For Flashnet, it was an extraordinary opportunity to demonstrate once more the capabilities of inteliLIGHT’s intelligent street lighting and smart city platform in a global context, presented by ENGIE; to strengthen local partnerships in the Middle East and to promote smart energy management solutions to local branches within the ENGIE Group.
inteliLIGHT® is an open protocol, plug and play system with a very simple installation procedure over the existing lighting grid. The system is compatible with existing streetlights, LEDs or renewable energy sources, without the need of infrastructure alterations. The system also serves as a backbone for future smart city applications (environmental, traffic and noise monitoring, traffic lights etc.).
Using open protocols helps inteliLIGHT stay flexible for future system upgrades and extensions. Moreover, it is a reliable solution for highway, industrial or logistics lighting. Wherever there is outdoor lighting, inteliLIGHT, in conjuncture with LED fixtures, can bring up to 80% direct energy savings and significant benefits in long-term maintenance.
About ENGIE
A global energy and services group, focused on three core activities: low-carbon power generation, mainly based on natural gas and renewable energy, global networks and customer solutions. In 2018, ENGIE announced the acquisition of 60% of Flashnet, a Romanian Internet of Things (IoT) company. Thanks to its solutions, many cities, both large and small, already enjoy all the benefits of smart public lighting networks. Learn more on www.engie.com.
