Flashnet launches the new FRCM v5 – advanced cabinet control for smarter, more responsive street lighting grids

Flashnet is proud to introduce a new, upgraded version of the cabinet controller, the latest evolution of our feeder remote control and monitoring module, designed to bring more flexibility and automation to cabinet-level street lighting control.
With unique capabilities on the market, the FRCM now integrates four additional auxiliary channels: both for inputs (such as sensors, triggers or detection signals) and for control outputs (relays or dry contacts), all within a single device.
This offers unmatched configuration flexibility, enabling grid engineers to implement more complex and smarter scenarios, while ensuring scalable deployments that are adaptable for continuous evolution and future upgrades.
Built for cities that require deeper insight and finer operational control, the new FRCM v5 significantly expands what can be achieved from a lighting cabinet through a redesigned input/output architecture that supports a wide range of sensors, meters, circuits and auxiliary equipment.
New and enhanced input/output options
Dry contact inputs for photocells, door sensors, pulse meters and other no-potential devices – delivering real-time awareness from the field.
Relay outputs enabling selective control of circuits and independent switching of the three phases, allowing cities to manage lighting segments individually and reduce unnecessary energy use.
Active Sensor Input for integrating smart sensors with electrical output, enabling local automation and additional smart city applications.
By consolidating these functions, FRCM v5 reduces the need for auxiliary devices, simplifies wiring, and shortens deployment time – especially in complex feeder pillars.
Designed for evolving urban lighting needs
As smart lighting deployments grow in size and complexity, cabinet controllers must support flexible configurations, mixed circuits and multiple external devices. FRCM v5 was engineered precisely for this.
Key benefits for municipalities and integrators:
- Lower installation and maintenance costs thanks to fewer external components and simplified cabinet wiring.
- Higher operational flexibility through individual phase control and circuit-level automation.
- Easier expansion with built-in support for third-party sensors, meters, and local automation triggers.
- Full remote configuration from the inteliLIGHT® CMS, eliminating the need for on-site hardware adjustments.
- Future-ready architecture that adapts to evolving urban requirements and smart city integrations.
Whether managing a small area or a city-wide grid, FRCM v5 ensures better visibility, faster response times and optimized energy and maintenance operations.
Deep integration with the inteliLIGHT software
Inside the inteliLIGHT StreetLight Control software, the FRCM v5 provides advanced monitoring and analytics. Operators can view real-time electrical data, analyze consumption history, check the status of relays and circuits, receive alerts for anomalies and visualize data collected from connected sensors or auxiliary devices.
This level of insight helps cities reduce energy waste, detect issues early and enable predictive maintenance, allowing teams to coordinate interventions more efficiently and ultimately lower operational costs while improving systemwide reliability.
