Romanian cities boost their investment in smart lighting and smart city projects.

Long-term energy efficiency and environmental concerns seem to overcome pandemic worries in these times of uncertainty, as smart lighting investments continue as part of smart city projects all over the country.

There are at least 7 smart lighting tenders that Flashnet will be attending this month together with their local integration and implementation partners. May 2020 therefore becomes the most active period of the year so far, almost tripling the monthly average recorded in the first 4 months of the year.

The increase indicates a growing interest from all municipalities nationwide. Following the examples of Brasov, Alba Iulia or Craiova, more and more cities from all over the country are boosting their investment to become smarter and more efficient. Using European or local funding, their main concern is replacing legacy lighting with LED, while introducing state-of-the-art connectivity and smart lighting features.

“Romanian cities are choosing inteliLIGHT for their smart street lighting projects. Together with our local integration partners, we are glad to be able to provide reliable solutions for their energy savings goals and smart city ambitions.” Said Mr. Lorand Mozes, CEO of Flashnet.

LED brings immediate energy savings and bulb lifetime improvement compared to previous street lighting technologies. inteliLIGHT® is a street lighting remote management solution that adds a smart awareness and control layer to existing lighting grids.

In-depth grid management gives an accurate real-time feedback of any change occurring along the grid, reduces energy loss and offers advanced maintenance optimization tools. Furthermore, as complete grid information is available remotely, field inspections are all but eliminated, reducing the infection risk for maintenance and technical personnel.
